Can bamboo grow in an aquarium?

Can bamboo grow in an aquarium?
Sure can I have a stalk of bamboo in my 50 gal. It looks like the stuff they sell as good luck, bare root in water. Stuck it in the gravel and its growing new stems now. %26gt;%26lt;%26gt;:)
Reply:Yep, bamboo can grow quiet well in water. Just make sure you wash if off well before you put it in your tank. Specially if you bought it at a mall ;)
Reply:There is a difference between true bamboo and the bamboo like plants they sell as "bamboo". Still you should have no trouble putting it in a tank. You may find that roots will grow out of the stalk in any area the plant is submersed though. Roots may grow out of an area 6 inches out of the gravel and move toward the gravel. Not a huge deal, but in some cases it can overtake a good portion of the tank with a well established root system.
