How long will a "golden bamboo" tree last in a large pot?

I am looking to purchase a few 30 gallon size Golden Bamboo trees to put around the backyard. I like how lush it looks but do not want to chance it spreading out of control. Will it still live a long time in a pot and look lush? Thanks for your input.

Golden Bamboo is one of the best bamboos for growing in tubs. Bambo, in general, likes to be crowded, so it will not need to be re-potted for a long time. Golden Bamboo is a "running" bamboo, which means that it's rhizomes will grow rapidly away from the parent plant and send up vertical shoots (so it won't take long to fill in your tub!!)..

If you are going to fill your tubs with container-grown plants, you can do this at any time of year. The best time to propagate from existing clumps is in the early spring.

Golden Bamboo is hardy to 0 degrees F.

Good Luck!!!
Reply:Go for it. If it gets pot-bound divide it and put it into more pots, give some away, take it to the flea market, sell it on EBay, burn it and send it to bamboo heaven
Reply:A golden Bamboo Tree should last many year in a large pot providing you keep up fertilizing and watering during the growing season
