Bamboos live for very long times if they are keep in a vase or container of rocks/pebbles, with water always even with the top of the rocks. You will notice when it needs more. They don't drink too much but the roots live in it and without completely saturating teh roots they will die. Also place the bamboo out of direct sunlight. In a corner or such.
Reply:Bamboos hate to be dry or soggy, so it's hard to say.
Reply:got mine over a year ago but is kept in water. It is growing great.Make sure the soil don't dry out.
Reply:If you bought a "Lucky Bamboo" it is not actually a bamboo but a Dracaena species probably Dracaena sanderiana. It will like medium light (no direct sun) and keep the water in the container filled to the top. This plant can survive in extremely low light and is good for apt dwellers with few windows. Dracenas and other plants in the family Agavaceae are efficient at controlling indoor pollution.
Reply:keep it filled up to the top with water. They drink a lot.. You should probably fill it up twice a week.
Reply:water its if its a little dry but bamboos are use to lot of water...
Reply:dont let them dry out but dont over-water it. . . . bamboo like to be in a drain area (when in soil) water it about 3 times a week.
