How do I grow bamboo from outside in my home?

We have wild bamboo growing outside our apartment building and were wondering what the best way is to take off a hunk of it and grow it inside.

How do I grow bamboo from outside in my home?
Cut about a 3-foot piece and stick it in a 5-gallon planter bucket full of potting soil. Make sure to bury at least one of the nubs on the side of the stalk in the soil. Water often to keep it moist, but let it drain well. It might take a few months, but you'll eventually get new sprouts from the remaining nubs above the soil.
Reply:They don't need much. You can just stick them in water. You can even grow them in a fish bowl.
