How do I get rid of Bamboo?

I have Bamboo in my back yard and it is spreading. It came form my neighbor but now it is taking over. How do I stop or contain it?

How do I get rid of Bamboo?
You have to dig up as much of it as you can then go to Home Depot or Lowe's and buy a product called TRIOX vegetation killer. Pour it all over the dirt or wherever you have a problem with the bamboo, it should take care of it completely. You wont be able to plant anything in this area for several weeks. I had a bamboo problem at my other house and could not get rid of it except by doing what I just mentioned. Good luck.
Reply:Let me know if you really find a way?
Reply:for astart your neighbour is partly responsible for growing it in the first place. with their co-operation you will have success as i have. cut the whole thing down to about ground level.when the plant sends up new growth spray it with roundup, wait ten days and spray it again,it will shoot again because it has secondary survival factors, you have to get the roundup into the plants system by repeating the process after each time it sends up new growth, you will win in the end and it may take 3or 4 sprays so be diligent and don,t slacken off. remember you have to treet the whole plant
Reply:dig deep! backhoe type dig hole !

the roots go deep and good luck containing it ! best bet would be a piece of plastic in the ground about 2 feet deep!
Reply:burn it or chop it up but there might be ticks in there.
Reply:you cant it will always grow back the roots are deep and they spread quickly if you poision them they will only come back and you just waisted your money. The best bet is to control it and not let them grow. Yet more yard work
Reply:whoa! i cant believe this-we planted some in our backyard, and it is so sickly-how do you all get it to grow??????
