Well, hes 19 and hes ok but we were in a bamboo garden and he picked up a dead one and started trying to break it. Somehow he got hurt on his finger and elbow. It looks like a bunch of tiny fine little splinters and it made the area welp up like a bee sting. Again, hes ok and DONT SEND ME TREATMENTS. I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of this.
Today at the park a bamboo plant bit my son.?
yep, it's happened to me once b-4! sux for the first day or so but it goes away on it's own! sorry for the lil guy!

Although bamboo is a grass it is just as tough as lumber.........never heard of it happening but I guess anything is possible
Reply:Yeah, bamboos have an irritant in their tissues to keep predators off them. Those fibers are fine, sharp and love to work into the skin. Had it happen several times. OUCH!!!!
