Help! Ants on my bamboo plant!?

I have a small, potted bamboo plant that has thus far been sitting on a dresser in my room. Today I lifted it up, and the bottom of it was swarming with ants! There doesn't seem to be any harm done to the plant, but I don't know how to get the remaining ants off of my plant without harming the plant itself!

Should I use a spray? Should I leave them alone and wait for them to leave by themselves? Should I empty out the little stones and the plant itself to get the little buggers out of there?

Someone please assist!

Help! Ants on my bamboo plant!?
Buy Terro brand ant traps, they can be put any were, safe for any room of the house, and rated for industrial kitchen use. They are cheap, and they last forever, and work instantly

They sell prepackaged ant traps, and they have a kit with pieces of cardboard and a bottle of the liquid, the latter goes much father, but I recommend it for outdoors/garage and shop use.
Reply:Either way if you have ants in your house you should be calling an exterminator! Most likely they are "pharoah ants" which are attracted to the water in the plant. Very common these days.
Reply:Fine crushed red pepper will run the ants off,and not hurt your plant.
