How long does it take Corn & Bamboo to grow out of the ground?

It is known that bamboo and corn are fastest growing plants,(at least bamboo is).

however, how long does it take them to grow out of the ground?

meaning that...if i plant the seed today, when am i gna see "sth" growing out from the ground? when does it START growing in length above the ground?

thanks so much!

How long does it take Corn %26amp; Bamboo to grow out of the ground?
Corn seed to seedling is 4- 5days(Start checking from the 3rd morning)

However i am not sure about bamboo. Are you growing bamboo from seed? They just pop out beside their mummy over night when the tempreture is right.

Bamboo produces new canes (culms) in the Spring. These shoots emerge out of the ground and grow in height and diameter for around 60 days. During this 60 day period it will produce limbs and leaves.
Reply:Corn, anywhere from 3-10 days depending on the quality of soil, amount of water, nutrients in the soil and age and quality of seed.

Bamboo is one of biggest SPREADING plants, not fastest growing.

Some of the fastest growing veggies are spinach and leafy vegetable plants.

Radishes are some of the fastest plants to harvest and can be harvested if conditions are right within a month of planting from seed. Spinach the same. Onions if planted from the bulb can be harvested in 3-7 weeks.
Reply:Bamboo flowers and seeds only very rarely. Some species only every 100 to 150 years. So growing from seed is a rare occurrence though not unknown

Bamboo forms buds on the rhizomes during the winter, and in late spring to early summer the shoot will break the surface growing several inches per day. There are thousands of different species, some maturing in a couple of months, some taking most of a year.

Bamboo can range from just a couple of feet tall to more than a 100 feet and 10 inches in diameter(you can see how that would take more than 60 days!)
