Beta fish with lucky bamboo?

I have this nice bowl-like thing that is much bigger than a beta start kit tank and a bit taller too. I wanted to add that with the lucky bamboo. Do you think that is safe for the beta? The water is not too high for the bamboo but high enough for the beta fish to swim freely in. What do you think? Will the beta jump out?

Beta fish with lucky bamboo?
Actually everyone elses comments here are wrong. The fact is, you can make an aquarium with lucky bamboo. Lucky Bamboo is actually not bamboo at all, its a member of the water lily family. So placing it in a fish bowl of water is no different than watering it normally in a glass vase. While some indicate the plant is poisonous, this is usually aimed towards dogs and cats, not humans or fish. Beta fish do jump, so there is a risk that it will jump out. To prevent it you can use a slightly bigger bowl, a tall glass vase, or you can try to cover the tank with something. As long as the fish has room to swim and as long as the water isnt completely covering the bamboo it should be okay. This is a cool idea though, something im actually thinking about doing myself. I got a lot of information from the site below. There is also a link to a picture of a lucky bamboo tank if you want to look at it for an example.

Hope this helps out!
Reply:Very possible he could jump out, they've been known to do that quite a bit. I'd go with a 5 gallon tank if you want to keep a betta. Plus, that'll be easier to maintain the water in a 5 gallon then a small bowl/vase.
Reply:won't work, bamboo is not actually a water plant and will eventually rot and make the water nasty. besides this, it can have rough edges that can ear a betta's fins.

glad your bowl is bigger than a starter kits, starter kits are usually like keeping them in cups. however, bettas are tropical fish that should have heaters, keeping them in bowls without heaters is not ideal and will shorten their lifespan. for optimum health make sure your bowl is at least 2gallons, purchase a 7.5watt heater (about $7 at most pet stores and walmarts) and a thermometer to watch the temp (about 78*F to 82*F) and be sure you're doing full water changes once a week.
Reply:Becareful if it's live lucky bamboo, the roots can poison the water for the fish. "I read that somewhere when I first decided to keep betta." Also Betta's do jump, a 5+ gallon aquarium with a lid is the best choice.

Anymore Betta Questions feel free to message me.
Reply:probably jump out but you could try
