Should I move my bamboo to water?

I recently acquired bamboo from someone, and she's had it in soil, in a pot. But I know many places have bamboo just in water. Should I switch it over to only water? Or just keep the soil moist?

Should I move my bamboo to water?
I took my bamboo out of the water and planted them in soil and they have never looked so good. Mine are in a self draining pot in potting soil. Keep them in bright indirect light and water them when needed. They don't need a lot of fuss, and are pretty easy to take care of. I probably only water mine once a month, when the soil starts to dry out. Good Luck!
Reply:I have one and it's been in water from day one, these plants are very sensitive and temperamental so I'd definitely be sure before trying to change it. Try googling it if you don't get an answer with a website where you can research it yourself. Good Luck with it, mine is bushy and tall I'm afraid to even take it out of it's original pot!
Reply:To much water will yellow the leaves and hurt the plant. Leave it in the pot and keep the soil not to moist. Good luck.
Reply:You do not need to transplant your bamboo plant. Just make sure you have adequate light, keep the soil moist (lightly water every few days) and fertilize monthly. Make sure not to over water as your plant will get root rot.
Reply:You can just keep the soil moist and it will be fine. Bamboo in just water is just a decorating trend, not a necessity.
