Lucky bamboo growth?

How many inches about, do lucky bamboo grow a year?

I have had mine for about 10 months and its grown an inch and a half...

Is this bad?

Lucky bamboo growth?
The more light the better so if you have a warm, south facing window that will help. Keep them in about an 2 inches of water at all times and you can put some sugar in the water occasionally. They grow slower in the winter months.
Reply:Not strange at all since Lucky Bamboo is NOT a bamboo, but a Dracaena.

Here's a nice site that has tons of info on Lucky Bamboo...

Reply:normal it grows slow
Reply:Totally normal for lucky bamboo. Which is strange because most varieties of bamboo grow very quickly. Actually the fastest growing plant in the world is a variety of bamboo.
Reply:I bought my mom lucky bamboo. she kept it by the window and kept in water. it died about 2 years later. and no, its not a bad thing at all.
Reply:I hope not! I have had mine for a year and 4 days (it was for a special occasion so i remember the specific date) and it has only grown about that much... not really noticeable.
