Transplanting bamboo,?

I live in north central Arkansas and intend to plant some bamboo as soon as possible, but know nothing about how and when to do it nor how to go about it. any advise appreciated.

I had bamboo at a home in Maryland..It grows almost anywhere and is next to impossible to get rid of. Put a couple of roots down and the next thing you are like Bill Murray in caddie shack.

Reply:If you plant bamboo, you had better contain it in a box in the ground because it will take over. Once it starts, it's there to stay and spread.
