Hardwood, bamboo, or cork floor?

We're in the process of remodeling and will be re-doing our entire downstairs with either hardwood, bamboo, or cork flooring. This will include the kitchen, dining room, and front entrance area. Any recommendations as to what might be best and who carries a good selection w/good prices?

Hardwood, bamboo, or cork floor?
I love all your choices.

So the best advice I can give is to match the "personality"

of the house.

Victorian...hardwood

single level ranch...cork

contemporary...bamboo

I am getting ready to open my own flooring business and would buy bamboo for my home!

I agree with the post about bamboo. Easy to take care of!!!
Reply:Bamboo is less expensive more durable and easier to care for.
Reply:Hardwood is sooo beautiful when well done. There are plenty of places that carry it.
Reply:cork flooring, don't u think bamboo is scary?it looks very brittle...
Reply:No choice there baby. Hardwood, that's it.
Reply:Hardwood is the best.

Better resale value and a time tested classic.

If not installing yourself, you can save a lot by buying the flooring and have it on site.

To have it installed check with a local mom and pop carpet store.

To separate each room you can have it laid at different angles. Hardwood is the way to go. Bamboo and cork look cool, but is only a trend, so far.
Reply:I love my bamboo flooring! We went with lumber liquidators and did it ourselves. It is so pretty (I think) and it's really cool that the colors vary so much.
