HELP What do I do with my bamboo?

Hubby put the poor lucky bamboo out in direct sunlight. The leaves turned white on about 4 leaves. What do I do to ensure that the bamboo keeps going and doesn't die?

Do I cut off the leaves where it is white?

HELP What do I do with my bamboo?
I would dig it up and put in a container. Depending on where you live of course, it is not a plant you desire in your garden because it can take over the whole yard. I visited a home where the bamboo was destroying their home and in time the neighborhood. With it in a container, you can move it into areas around your garden and let it tell you where it likes to live. Yes remove the sunburned leaves. Good Luck. Bamboo can be beautiful.
Reply:dont worry, it's pretty hard to kill bamboo, my freind found one in his moms cleset.. all yellow, looked dead. but after a couple weeks of water it started to grow new leaves.
Reply:"Cabochic" gave a good answer. You should be able to get a care instruction sheet for your bamboo. Maybe try the net.

However, I would bring them in, rinse off the roots, if in water, and fill with new clean water. I use rain or distilled water.

But put and keep them in low/subdued light. Also do cut the damaged leaves off. If the stalks have not withered it should come back.
Reply:Yeah, direct sunlight will bleach out the leaves. The lucky bamboo is actually a grass plant, and it will survive, as long as the roots didn't get damaged. Do you have it in soil or water? If it is in water, then I would be concerned that the water heated up in the direct sunlight and might have killed them. Bring back inside and see what happens! You can take off the unsightly leaves if you want.
