Reply:I live in AZ and we have bamboo in the backyard and it's doing fine.
Reply:It is just like grass only taller. Give it a lots of water. If grass grows it will.

Check out this site %26amp; maybe it will help you identify it %26amp; get some idea of how to treat it.

Reply:Do you have lucky bamboo? If so it is not really a bamboo. its really a Dracaena. It needs medium shade. To much sun will kill it. I have tried to grow in Florida, but mine died.
Reply:Yes, you can, but you have to remember that bamboo is a type of grass, and needs frequent waterings. It also grows quickly, and you may not want to plant it too close to the foundations of your home, as the roots can go deep and actually start to penetrate the concrete of the foundation.
Reply:i agree with rlbendl--you need to distinguish between lucky bamboo (dracaena) and real bamboo...

lucky bamboo is likely to need a lot of shade in AZ, and possibly protection from any occasional frost..

to test its sun tolerance, start with full shade outdoors coming from inside, slowwly(over a week or two) move it into more sun..by the time its in about half sun, leave it for awhile to see if it is getting yellow brown/stunted looking from too much light..too little will lead to pale green and long spaces btwn leaves..remember, it will need MUCH more frequent watering outside in a pot, and i wouldnt plant it in the ground til you've figured out how much sun/shade it needs...
Reply:i dont have idea my friend
Reply:Make sure you have the non-invasive type bamboo before you plant it in your yard. I have heard the invasive type is so very hard to get rid of once it starts to grow as it spreads everywhere.

Hope this helps..
Reply:go ahead
