Growth rings on bamboo plants?

Can the rings on bamboo be counted to find out how old ii is? Like tree trunks can be read for age?

Growth rings on bamboo plants?
If you're referring to the rings that ascend the stalk...No.

Bamboo is a grass and grows a bit differently then dicotyledenous trees.
Reply:no growth rings bamboo grows continuously ,it is a `grass not a tree.
Reply:i would assume you could determine its age by the rings, but unlike deciduous trees which go dormant yearly and then start regrowth, bamboo is a warm climate plant that grows year round
Reply:Bamboo is a monocot and therefore has no secondary growth (cylindrical meristem).
