What is a small flute made of bamboo or wood?



I was wondering what a small flute made of bamboo or wood is called. I think it is native to africa or something.



So can you help me I would realy apreciate it.

either the pan flute or the piccolo

i've seen both of them made out of bamboo and wood.



if the pitch is extremely high, then it's probably a piccolo

if it's not really high, then i'd say pan flute.

Flutes are pretty much ubiquitous in world music cultures, and without more details, such as culture of origin ("Africa" is far too broad) and details of construction (number of holes, end-blown vs. side blown, bore etc. ) , there's really no way to find the real name. If it's something you have, they're easy enough to figure out how to play if you've had flute or recorder experience, and you probably won't find a method book for it, unless it's something major like a shakuhachi.
