Can lucky bamboo survive fully submerged in a freshwater aquarium?

I've heard a lot on both sides of the argument here. Some say the bamboo must be poking out of the water, others say it will do great fully submerged. I am looking to clear this up. Thanks.

Can lucky bamboo survive fully submerged in a freshwater aquarium?
Lucky bamboo (Dracaena species) is a bog plant that, when kept fully submerged, will eventually rot. If a good portion of it is exposed to oxygen, it will be able to respire and live, unlike underwater.
Reply:I have had mine fully submerged for the last year, and it is still growing and appears healthy.
