Can you get allergic reactions to bamboo?

I was given bamboo as a gift and I have skin allergies and I have been icthing a lot recently and I am wondering if it is the bamboo as I have don't know anything about it.

Can you get allergic reactions to bamboo?
You can get ellergic reactions from anything!!! If it starts coming up a bit spotty like a rash go and see a doctor and they'll give you something for it but try E45 cream its the best for skin allergies...
Reply:Are you sure it's not Poison Oak?
Reply:It is possible in a human into contact with the bamboo plant, causing itching and redness
Reply:A person can be allergic to anything. Rub a little piece of a leaf on your skin and if it turns really red and itchy that would indicate an allergy, kind of like the scratch test the doctor does to figure out what you are allergic to. It shouldn't make your skin itchy unless you actually touch the plant, just being in the same room should not cause a reaction.
Reply:You can be allergic to anything.
Reply:You are not supposed to eat it, unless you are a koala bear or panda.
