Care for Lucky Bamboo?

I just bought a lucky bamboo plant and was wondering, how do you care for it? Such as, when do you water it, and how much? Do you have to change the water? Is plain tap water okay? Does it need fertilizer? Does the amount of light matter? Does it need special plant food? Should I trim it? So many questions... Thanks. ;D

Just make sure you keep fresh water in the container. Using rain water or water that you've let set out for over 24 hours is usually the best since it doesn't have as many chemicals in it to harm your plant. Don't put it in dirt, it will die, I learned that the hard way. As long as it looks fine you probably don't need to fertilize it. I'd just set it next to a window but don't open the window or put it outside since direct sunlight can burn the leaves and turn them yellow which could ultimately kill your plant. I would only trim it if there are dead leaves or to make it into your desired look for the plant. I hope that helps :)

Reply:It will die within a couple of years no matter what you do. Just keep water in it and keep it near a window. It will be nice for awhile.
