How do i grow Lucky bamboo faster??

I currently have 7 shoots of bamboo that i bought from Wal-Mart. Initially I put it in a glass vase with big pebbles and water. I am not sure but i think either durect sunlight or the roots went a little dry. A couple of leaves got yellow and then i was told and found out that Bamboo does not require any light!!! and the roots should be in water always and should change water once in 2 weeks. I also started putting a little all purpose miricle grow in the water and change it once in 2 weeks. Now it is growing a little bit of new buds which had yellowed initially. I am not sure if i should just continue what i am doing?? Or should i change water less often than 2 weeks??? or some other techniques cause no new leaves from already coming leaves seem to be sprouting. Its very slow and even though new sprouts are coming, i am hoping there could be something i could do to help it grow faster????

couple of things...all plants need light in order for the process of photosynthesis to occur. this is how plants process nutrients to stay alive. also, lucky bamboo is not actually bamboo, it is a variety of common houseplant called "dracaena", so don't try to care for it like bamboo. it is a very slow grower. you are doing exactly what you need to be doing to support the plant. high light conditions will cause the plant to stretch towards the light. do NOT let the roots dry out, it is a struggle for them to recover. keep putting just a DAB of miracle grow in there every time you change the water. it is very common for the tips of these plants to turn brown, but's it's ok, that doesn't mean it's dying.
Reply:I have a lucky bamboo that is doing great, lots of growth.I have had it now for 2 years. I use sparkletts water to water it, because the water here is too salty. I water it twice a week.If the leaves get yellow at the ends, there is to much salt in your water. Cut off the dead tips, cut at an angle. and it wont look to strange. It get only florecenst lights during the week, and I put it in the window on weekends when the office will be dark. I tried miracle grow on it once, and it did not like it. The leave started to turn yellow. After I changed the water, it got better.
Reply:I don't think the miracle grow is helping the bamboo, in the wild bamboo only need water, a swamp or something wet, no need for changing water every two weeks, just give it some time..?
