How do you transplant bamboo?
Remove bamboo from old pot and shake off any excess rocks. Make ready your new pot, just be sure the new pot is large enough for the bamboo. Use regular potting soil. You may even want to add a bit of sand to the potting soil. Or you can just dig up some plain dirt and put it in the pot. Bamboo is very hardy and will grow in anything. I've noticed that bamboo tends to grow along streams near here, so perhaps they like the soil a bit sandy and damp.



Get your new pot ready, put the bamboo in it, and find a nice sunny location for it.
Reply:easy....just remove it from the pot and if needed, split into several smaller plants and simply repot them. if you want to repot the whole plant, get a bigger pot and just use potting soil...or stick them in the ground...they do not require a lot of help...they'll grow anywhere, in any medium.

Yes, I have one too! In fact, I have transplanted it last summer and it is doing just fine outside on my patio. I know that they are sold as indoor plants, but I wanted to see if it would do OK outside, and low and behold, I put it in the huge big bed and it is thriveing! So, I think that if you want to repot yours and keep it inside, by all means, do so, an attractive pot would be nice, Just use ordinary soil, nothing too rich, as I don't think bamboo like to be over fertilized with compost type stuff. I used regular soil and it's doing just fine.
