Does anyone know if "Bamboo Bernie's"; a new york city bar still exist?

Bamboo Bernies was on broadway on broadway around 82nd west. This place was long and narrow with the rest rooms, "signs and door knobs missing"; in the rear. Dancing on the bar was an absolute for those women who just finished their 64 ounce "epo drink" -- stronger than a "scopion bowl". For the time of your life this was the place to go. Hopefully it still exist and on my next visit to nyc perhaps someone could join me to guide me in the right direction when I leave. thanks

Bamboo Bernie's has been closed for years. The owner, Rick Oscher, still owns two bars on the Upper West Side - Venue Wine Bar on Columbus and 85th - probably not at all what you're looking for - you hve to get dressed up - no jeans or sneakers allowed. He also owns Bourbon Street on Amsterdam and 79th Street. There is a tiki bar called Bamboo Bernies in Smithtown, Long Island, but I doubt that there is any connection. If you're curious, or have any questions, call Bourbon Street at [212] 721-1332.
Reply:OMG!!! That was my MAJOR hangout in the early 90's! We used to chuck down those fish bowls with the whale in them!

Our barhopping started out with "Lucy's" on Columbus by 84th, then "Firehouse"....and when it opened up later, "Alligator Alley"....then we hit Bamboo Bernie's right after!

And yeah, I definitely had the time of my life along with a couple of "scores" :)
Reply:I don't think so. I think it either relocated in Long Island or it closed in Manhattan.
