How tall will a bamboo tree grow in a year?

well i have a bamboo tree but its been growing really slowly. what should i do? do i need to give it nutrients?

How tall will a bamboo tree grow in a year?
actually bamboo grows freakishly fast. Keep it WET. SOAKING WET all the time. After winter it will SKYROCKET.

edit: Objection!

I have to totally disagree with the man above me. I have been in the plant maintenence industry for a good part of my life, have experience with bamboo. They grow in swampland naturally, they want WATER WATER WATER. And when they get it its almost as if you can see the chutes growing(not literally of course) ive seen it grow nearly a foot a day
Reply:Lucky bamboo doesn't grow that fast. I've had mine for a few years and my plant is about 2 1/2 feet tall, although I have cut pieces off to start growing new plants from it several times.

If you want to give it a little extra help, you can give it a (very small) amount of water-soluble fertilizer

If you are referring to the really thick almost tree-like bamboo you can buy as a tropical plant, that will grow even slower.
