Is Laminate flooring really cheaper than carbonized bamboo, in the long run?

Per Square Foot, laminate (78¢ sf) is a lot cheaper than carbonized bamboo ($1.99 sf ). We were thinking of putting laminate in our home for that reason.

Then we were told that we have to install a layer of plastic moisture guard and a layer of cloth under the laminate. But with the bamboo, we can glue it directly to the cement sub-floor.

Is this true? If so why?

(If it is true, it seems to negate the $avings on the laminate).

hi,i have laminate flooring and i personally do not like it,its hard on your feet, makes my back hurt.and if you acidentally get water on it ,it will swell up.yes its cheaper in the long run but i whished we had did something different, iits basically called a floating floor, thats why you have to put the plastic gaurd under it,because it moves(breathes).but some people like it.
