What kind of bamboo is in kyoto, japan?

ive been lookin for this type of bamboo but i could never could get the right name.. i was hoping some one would know..heres a pic

What kind of bamboo is in kyoto, japan?

Btw, this bamboo can grow to 75 feet at maturity but needs about 60 inches of rain a year or frequent waterings.

Reply:Honestly it looks like Phyllostachys heterocycla cv pubescens, also known as "Moso".
Reply:I agree, this looks like "Moso Bamboo". It is the largest of the "running" bamboo. However, it is rare and difficult to establish.



Where do you live? This bamboo can withstand cold to 5F.
