Why is my lucky bamboo dying?

I had it in just water for about a year, just planted it in soil with miracle grow. Nice drainage pot...now the inside stalks are turning yellow. I thought bamboo was one of the easiest to grow? What do I do now?

Why is my lucky bamboo dying?
Cut the yellow from the stalks and try to re-root in just water.

Might work...if so, since you were doing well just growing it in water in the first place, keep doing it! If you must plant it, make sure you use soil with good drainage, very rocky and/or sandy...don't worry about fertilizer and aways keep it watered well...
Reply:Cut the stalks about the yellow %26amp; place in plain water in a glass..never use miracle grown on them its full of chemicals..keep it out of direct sun it may take months but it will root %26amp; come back
Reply:your s-hit out of luck man
Reply:Stalks turning yellow from the bottom: too much fertilizer. Sadly, there’s probably little you can do at this point. Change the water and don’t feed, and there’s a (slim) chance the plant may recover. You can also cut off the stalks above the yellow part and root the tops. If one stalk turns yellow and the others look fine, just remove that one from the arrangement.
Reply:Confucious say....all you ruck run out. Too much poopie in tha wada.
Reply:The soil and the horrendous MIracle-Gro did it.

It needs far more humidity than soil provides. In fact, if you can't keep it in a permanent puddle, it won't thrive.

Just pull it out and return it to its previous water vase
Reply:Needs lots of water....and even more. You is very unrucky.
Reply:So-called Lucky Bamboo isn't bamboo at all. It's a Dracena. This species of Dracena needs to have its base submerged in water all the time. The potting medium is usually gravel or coarse sand and serves only to keep the plant from falling over. Do NOT use potting soil. Do not fertilize either. The water should be changed out every several weeks to prevent the roots from becoming anaerobic (rancid).

To salvage a failing plant, cut a section of the stem that is still green and firm. It will root in water.
Reply:Maybe you used too much Miracle Grow or not the proper type of soil, did you use a sand base mix? Transplanting anything is risky. Cut back on the water, usually yellow means too much water.
