Will it hurt my bamboo plants to change out their water?

I have 3 bamboo plants. They sit in separate glass vases. They are relatively medium size so they sit on my kitchen counter. 2 of them look unhealthy though so i wanted to change out their water but i didn't want to hurt the plants "good chemicals" in the process.....whaddaya think?

Will it hurt my bamboo plants to change out their water?
No they love clean water.
Reply:yeah if you dont change out the water they will die anytime the water gets nasty change it
Reply:No in fact if they have turned yellow you may save them. But, in my experience once they start to turn yellow they are on their way out. My neighbor swears that changing their water weekly with distilled water is how hers turned into trees. Mine all died after turning yellow which she says is due to the mineral content in the water (it does get rather slimey if you don't change it)
Reply:mine are changed about every three months.... at that time, I pour out the old water, let the rocks slide out into an old plastic bowl and off the roots, gently..... then I wet a paper towel and wrap it around the roots, again gently..... then I'll clean the rocks and the glass container.... when that's done, some of the rocks go back in, then the plant is replaced and then one by one, the rocks, as gently as possible.....once they're back in place, I refill with FILTERED water that is room temperature..... then, the magic.... add ONE DROP of either fish emulsion or a few drops of mixed up already, liquid fertilzer, like that for african violets.... more is NOT BETTER here......!!...........use filtered, room temp water to refill as evaporation takes place..... this will stop the brown tips on the ends of your plant, too.... they hate chlorine and floride!!!....and yes, they are Dracaena not bamboo, actually....
Reply:i'm not a bamboo expert. and the fact of the matter is, what you have are not real bamboo plants.

but from my experience, i have changed the water in mine. i give mine tap water. i'm sure distilled water, or bottled water would be healthier, i'm guessing, i don't really know. i've had mine 2 or 3 years now with just using tap water, and occasionaly changing it completely.
