i have rthis 6 foot high bamboo looking red stalk big green leaves weed that i can not get rid of. some one called it japanese bamboo. if i dont get rid of this it will over take my yard soon
How do i kill bamboo look-a-like weed?
you just have to dig it out. to keep it from spreading any farther while you're working at it, dig a narrow trench, at least a foot deep, around it and barricade it with some kind of solid plastic border. It'll keep it contained, at least
Reply:pour boiling water at its root. make sure it's a large enough quantity. or, if it's like a tree, and has a bark, peel it off. trees die if a large portion of their bark is peeled. good luck.
Reply:this is japanese bind weed it can become very invasive if not kept in check , Ive had it grow under my house and grow in the crawl space , round up is the best answer
Reply:If you live near SE Massachusetts I'll come get it. If not, Bamboo is in the grass family of plants and repeated applications of round up will take take care of it. Say repeated because bamboo is hearty and will likely survive one application of properly applied round up. You certainly kill the current growth but in a few months may have new shoots. Depends how long the bamboo has been established in your garden.
Reply:try pulling it up by the roots or maybe digging the roots out of the ground if that doesn't work maybe try some weed killer
Reply:round up for brush
Reply:Try Roundup herbicide it controls ALL plants be careful in application it's unforgiving
