Lucky bamboo - cut foliage?

I have three stalks of bamboo about 12 inches, that have grown foliage more than triple the length of the stalks, in fact they are so heavy they are begining to lean away and may break - these are about 5 years old. I have them sitting on a counter and they the longest is taller than the 8' ceiling. If I cut them off, will they grow back, or is it better to brace them somehow. Luckly I have a sloping ceiling and keep moving it over as it continues to grow.

Cut them back to a comfortable length, you can't hurt them. Cut them at the visible joint and you will soon see new growth. The cut shoots may be placed in water and they will soon develop roots for transplant, if you wish to have more plants.
