Lucky Bamboo questions?

I just got a lucky bamboo plant. I have some questions about it.

Do they grow from the ground up? Or from the top up? Because mine looks like it has been cut at the top and I want to know if that means it wont grow any larger. I want it to grow taller.

Lucky Bamboo questions?
A lucky bamboo grows only from the joint parts, but the growth will grow to about 15cm. The top area where it is cut it hs to be sealed with a special paint containing wax, to close the wound from being infected. And when lucky bamboo is twisted, it is because when it is growing they insert a thin rod in the bamboo and they will start to train it to twist around. The lifespan of lucky bamboo is 5 yers maximum.
Reply:Well it won't stay looking like that sorry to say. If you want it to, you have to turn it a measurement every day to face the sun. You can cut the roots up to 1/3 once per year. If in water, change it evry week, give it Lucky Bamboo fertalizer, and if you top it, it will bush out,not up. Byee
Reply:you shoul speak with bamboo
Reply:Lucky bamboo actually isn't bamboo at all. It is a Dracaena. You should leave it in water and pea gravel. Also, they don't like a lot of light. Indirect light would be best. I have one that is 7 years old and grew almost 4 feet!

Good luck!
